As long as I remember when I was a kid I never used to like ketchup from the store.
Store-bought ketchup contains high-fructose syrup and a list of preservatives that I tend to avoid.
The homemade version, on the other hand, is cheaper and all about natural flavours, ingredients, and spices.
My grandmother used to make her own ketchup.
And, I have been brought up in a family that loves homemade food.
Today, I would like to share my grandmother's homemade ketchup recipe but with a healthy twist.😉
Everybody loves good homemade food and this sauce is a great example that can be made only with a few ingredients, and it requires very little time.
My family absolutely loves this ketchup to eat with sweet potato chips, and I believe you will love it as much as we do. 😀👍
Ingredients:
🔸️300g organic tomato puree
🔸️1 tbsp raw coconut vinegar
🔸️ 30ml filtered water
🔸️ 2 tbsp maple syrup
🔸️Pinch of Himalayan salt
🔸️1tbsp onion powder
🔸️1 tbsp garlic powder
🔸️1 tsp black pepper
🔸️1 tsp dried parsley
🔸️ 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
Method:
Place the tomato puree and all other ingredients in a powerful food processor or blender.
I like to mix the coconut vinegar, water, and maple syrup in the glass jar from the tomato puree; and then pouring it over to the food processor.
Blend until combined and with a smooth texture.
Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 1 week.
Enjoy 😉
